Jennifer Licary was named digital sales manager for the Daily Journal in Kankakee, Illinois.
She had been a digital sales engineer for the Chicago Tribune Media Group.
“The Tribune’s loss is our gain,” said Len R. Small, president and CEO of Small Newspaper Group.
Prior to working at the Tribune, Licary lived in San Antonio and worked as a development manager at a marketing agency. There, she sold custom designed and developed websites, branding and digital marketing, the Daily Journal reported.
Sally Hendron, Small Newspaper Group vice president of finance, said the company is enthusiastic about expanding its digital coverage of Kankakee County.
“Jennifer hails from the Chicago Tribune where she was a standout in both digital functionality and customer reach,” Hendron added. “A polished professional, we are proud to be bringing her expertise to the doorsteps of Kankakee County’s businesses.”
Bev Sams, the Journal’s senior director of advertising and marketing, said Licary “brings a depth of digital experience and has been on both the advertising and customer side. She can truly consult with our customers and provide solutions that will deliver results.”
