Kenneth Bohl, who since 1986 has managed circulation departments at newspapers throughout the Plains and the West, has been named audience development director for Wick Communications.
Bohl has managed circulations departments in markets including Bismarck, N.D.; Flagstaff, Ariz.; and Ukiah and Vallejo in California. As head of Wick’s audience development he will work at the company’s headquarters in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
“We’re excited to have Ken Bohl join the Wick organization and assist us as we prioritize and focus our efforts on promoting and distributing the ‘daily miracle.’ We welcome him and his family to Sierra Vista,” CEO Francis Wick said.
Bohl replaces with Jeff Scott, who has been reassigned to other Wick papers in Arizona, the Green Valley News/Sahuarita Sun. Scott led the conversion of the flagship Sierra Vista Herald, now the Herald/Review, from an afternoon paper to a morning daily.
In an article in the Herald/Review, Bohl described his management style as hands-on.
“I don’t spend all my time sitting behind a desk. I go out and take a look, evaluate and understand what is happening so that I know what I am talking about.” he said.
