GateHouse Media picks Evvnt to generate revenue from events listings


GateHouse Media will use Evvnt, a marketing platform for events calendars, to manage calendars on its 500-plus newspaper websites.

The deal, announced in mid-October, marks the biggest since the U.K.-based company earlier this year announced it was entering the U.S. market.

Evvnt’s software tool enables marketers and event organizers to promote an event to more than 3,500 listing sites by completing a single listing. Evvnt will supply revenue-generating event calendars to GateHouse that will be active within hours of going live.

Evvnt’s business model is to replace traditional events listing calendars with a platform dedicated to generating new business advertising revenue from the events industry, helping users find attractive events at a local level.

From an event submission, the Evvnt platform based on SaaS (software as a service) technology automatically creates a selective listing of publishers’ specific events with locations attached making it easier for event organizers to get their events seen via further distribution to print and voice.
