Bart Leath has been named interim publisher of The Advertiser-Tribune in Tiffin, Ohio, Ogden Newspapers announced in March.
Leath been publisher at two other newspapers owned by Ogden: the Minot (North Dakota) Daily Newsand the Sentinel in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.
Previously, he has been circulation manager at Ogden Newspaper’s headquarters in Wheeling, West Virginia, overseeing circulation for all newspapers in the group, which now totals more than 40 dailies.
“Ogden Newspapers and I both believe that the newspaper plays a critical role in local journalism,” Leath said. “It is very important that The Advertiser-Tribune serves the Tiffin area and supports the local communities.
“I cannot wait to reinvigorate our editorial commitment to the readers of The Advertiser-Tribune,” he added. “I want to hear from readers about how they feel about The Advertiser-Tribune. I also want to help advertisers grow their businesses by using The Advertiser-Tribune.”
Leath said the ongoing development in Tiffin’s downtown should make Tiffin a destination community and the city features amenities not seen in many other locations, such as a pair of universities. Tiffin, located about 55 miles southeast of Toledo, is home to It is the home of Heidelberg University and Tiffin University.
“The colleges really help make the community,” Leath said.
